Etoricoxib 60 mg + Thiocolchicoside 4 mg Tablets is a combination formulation used for the management of pain, inflammation and painful muscle spasms associated with certain musculoskeletal conditions. Etoricoxib belongs to the selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by reducing the production of prostaglandins involved in pain and inflammation, helping relieve swelling, tenderness and discomfort. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant that acts on the central nervous system to help reduce painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders. The combination is intended to provide complementary effects, with etoricoxib helping control pain and inflammation while thiocolchicoside helps relieve muscle stiffness and spasms. Depending on a patient's diagnosis and the prescribing clinician's assessment, it may be used for short-term management of acute back pain, neck pain, muscle spasms and other painful musculoskeletal conditions. It may help improve movement and reduce discomfort when muscle spasm and inflammation occur together, but it does not treat the underlying cause of every musculoskeletal disorder. Common side effects may include abdominal discomfort, indigestion, nausea, dizziness and diarrhoea. Etoricoxib may increase blood pressure and carries risks involving the cardiovascular system, kidneys and gastrointestinal tract, particularly in susceptible patients. Thiocolchicoside can cause diarrhoea and other adverse effects and has important restrictions because of potential effects on reproduction and fetal development. It should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in women who could become pregnant without appropriate precautions, and its use is restricted to short-term treatment under applicable prescribing guidance. This combination may not be suitable for people with certain heart conditions, uncontrolled high blood pressure, severe kidney or liver disease, or a history of allergy to NSAIDs. Etoricoxib 60 mg + Thiocolchicoside 4 mg Tablets should be used only under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, with the dose and duration tailored to the patient's condition, medical history and treatment requirements.
