Calcium Carbonate with Calcitriol & Methylcobalamin Tablets (100 Tablets) is a combination nutritional and therapeutic formulation designed to support bone health, calcium metabolism and normal nerve function. Calcium carbonate is a source of elemental calcium, an essential mineral required for maintaining strong bones and teeth, normal muscle contraction, nerve transmission and blood clotting. Calcitriol is the active form of vitamin D3 (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3), which helps regulate calcium and phosphate levels in the body by promoting intestinal calcium absorption and supporting normal bone mineralisation. It is used in specific conditions associated with impaired vitamin D activation or calcium regulation, including certain patients with chronic kidney disease, under medical supervision. Methylcobalamin is an active form of vitamin B12 that supports normal nerve function, red blood cell formation and DNA synthesis. It helps maintain the myelin sheath surrounding nerves and may be used to manage vitamin B12 deficiency and associated neurological symptoms. The combination may be prescribed for patients who require calcium supplementation alongside calcitriol and vitamin B12, particularly when bone health, calcium balance and B12 status need to be addressed together. It may be useful in selected cases of calcium deficiency, impaired calcium metabolism or increased nutritional requirements, depending on the patient's clinical condition. However, it is not a routine supplement for everyone, because calcitriol can significantly increase calcium absorption and may cause hypercalcaemia (excess calcium in the blood) if used inappropriately. Possible adverse effects include nausea, constipation, abdominal discomfort and elevated calcium levels. Excessive calcium or calcitriol intake may also contribute to kidney stone formation or kidney complications in susceptible patients. The appropriate dose and duration depend on the strengths of the individual ingredients, kidney function, blood calcium and phosphate levels, vitamin B12 status and the prescribing clinician's assessment. Patients should inform their healthcare professional about other calcium or vitamin D supplements and medicines they take, particularly those that may affect calcium levels. The pack containing 100 tablets is a packaging specification and does not determine the treatment duration. Calcium Carbonate with Calcitriol & Methylcobalamin Tablets should be used according to medical advice, with appropriate monitoring when required, to support bone mineral balance, calcium metabolism and normal nerve function.
